Please bring loonies for the shower. Bags of wood and wood for the sauna are $10 each. Please do not bring your own wood as it can spread harmful insects and disease.

Beautifully located on the south shore of Mink Bay, this rustic tiny home with large windows overlooking the lake offers a cozy spot to get away. A large porch and picnic area provide instant immersion in the surrounding forest. Burdock is equipped with a wood stove, kitchenette, indoor composting toilet and a firepit with a grill. It is our only unit with full power service.

The main floor of Burdock is furnished simply and comfortably for sleeping, cooking, eating and sitting. There is an additional lofted queen bed. For cooking there is an indoor kitchenettes as well as a propane stove on the porch and an outdoor fire pit.

Parking from Burdock is located in front of our house. It is accessed by walking 50 metres down a path along the east side of our garden. The pay-shower, docks, saunas and playground are a short walk in the other direction from parking.

All rentals include use of our canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and peddle-boat. Adult life-jackets and paddles for two will be at the cabin. If you need life-jackets for children or additional paddles they can be borrowed from the main dock and returned before you leave.

Check-In: Check-in is between 3 pm and 9 pm.  If you will be arriving later than 9 pm, let us know and we will make arrangements for a self check-in with a letter and map.

Check-Out: Check-out is by 11 am. Gear must be loaded into vehicles by 11 to allow us to clean the cabins before the arrival of our next guests but you are welcome to stay on-site until later in the day.

Payment: Half Payment is required at time of booking. The remainder will be charged two Mondays prior to the booking arrival date.

Cancellation: If you cancel with 30 days or more notice we will refund your entire payment minus a $25 administration fee per unit rented.

  1. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice we will refund half your payment.
  2. If you cancel with less than 14 days notice we will not refund your payment. In cases of occasional spring or fall blizzards that make travel here precarious we will refund the full amount.  Please note this does not apply to cold temperatures, only storms.

Pets: Dogs are permitted in the cabins.  All other types of pets are not.  There is an additional charge of $30. Dogs must be well-behaved, reasonably quiet and on-leash at all times when outside. Dogs must be kept off the furniture and cleaned up after both inside and out.  Dogs must not be left alone in the cabins or on the porch unless kenneled. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in additional charges.

Inspired by the space-saving design of tiny homes and bowler campers, these cabins are by far our cutest offering. Built with sturdy dovetail pine, and situated on a cliff overlooking the lake these cosy units contain everything you need to make them your tiny home away from home.

The main floor is furnished simply and comfortably for sleeping, eating and sitting. There is an additional cozy lofted double bed. For cooking there are kitchenettes on the porch as well as an outdoor fire pit with a grill. A composting toilet is located nearby and the pay-shower is a short walk away.

Sunflower Tiny cabin is located on the water in behind the main washroom and shower building. It is a short walk from the waterfront wood-fired sauna and docks for swimming. 

Tiny cabins Aster and Milkweed are located on a hill and are accessed by a short walk that includes one flight of stairs. They are a short walk from the dock, playground, wood-fired sauna and hiking trails.

Tiny cabins Lichen, Fiddlehead, and Cattail are accessed down a scenic waterfront walk from the main shower, dock, playground, and sauna.

Sunflower is 20 metres from parking. Aster and Milkweed are located up a staircase 35 metres from parking. Cattail and Fiddlehead are 35 metres from parking and Lichen is about 70 metres from parking.

All rentals include use of our canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and peddle-boat.

Built with timbers from a local sawmill, our dove-tail log cabins offer an ideal home base to venture out from and explore the surrounding land and lake.  All three cabins have a cathedral ceiling with a loft sleeping area, large windows that let in lots of natural light and contain simple, rustic furnishings. They are equipped with a woodstove, kitchenette, composting toilet and solar lighting.  Outside they have a porch with comfortable seating as well as a picnic area with additional seating and fire pit with a grill.

The Hawthorn cabin is located on a hilltop above a feral apple orchard and overlooks the lake.  It is a short walk down to the dock and even shorter walk to get to the wood-fired sauna. It is about 20 metres from parking.

The Mullein cabin is wheelchair accessible and is located near parking, the playground and shower-house.  It is a short walk down to the dock and to the wood-fired sauna.

The Nettle cabin is set back into mixed forest and is the first cabin we built.  It is located next to the trailhead, providing immediate access to explore the Mink Bay trail network. It is a short walk down to the dock and to the wood-fired sauna. It is 10 metres from parking.

Situated on a hilltop among burr oak, white pine and birch, our fully-furnished canvas lodge-pole prospector tents offer the opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty of nature while still providing protection from its less comfortable elements. The netting on the front means the canvas flaps can be left open to allow breezes to enter and also provides views of the stars.

All four tents are framed internally with rough-sawn lumber and externally with stripped poplar lodge poles with wooden floors.  The interiors contain simple, rustic furnishings and solar lighting. For cooking there are kitchenettes on the porches as well as a picnic area that includes a fire pit with a grill. Composting toilets are located nearby. The tents are located in a clearing that is surrounded by a bear fence and are a short walk from the public shower, dock, playground, wood-fired sauna and hiking trails.

The Goldenrod tent has a view of the water and is located beneath a large white pine.

The Hyssop and Sumac tents face onto a shared open meadow and have private picnic areas to the side of the tents.

The Dandelion tent faces away from the meadow and its picnic area is directly in front of the porch.

The prospector tents are located on a hill 70 meters from the tent parking lot and are accessed by foot. There is a second access point to the tents with a staircase located closer to the main camp. There is a parking spot available there for loading gear upon arrival and departure.
